Nikita Kanda is shook up after being attacked in broad daylight while waiting for public transport.
The Strictly Come Dancing star said she was engaged in the incident after concluding her BBC Asian Network Breakfast radio show.
The’really terrifying’ encounter occurred near Oxford Circus, where Nikita, 38, was standing alone.
‘Today something really scary happened and I feel the need to share it,’ she told her 36k followers on Instagram.
She recalled ‘minding my own business looking at my phone’ when a man approached her.
‘A random guy decided to hit me in the face for no reason at all and laughed about it.
‘I’m in utter shock that someone can do this. I’ve lived in London my whole life and something like this has never happened,’ she continued.
Fortunately, Nikita, 28, is unharmed and praises her sunglasses for keeping her safe.
‘It’s just absolutely disgusting that someone can do this in broad daylight and what was even more sad is that no one around me cared or batted an eyelid that someone just hit me in public,’ she claimed.
She warned followers to be careful and added the police are taking the matter seriously.
‘There are some very nasty people out there and this has just opened my eyes and shook me up tbh. What kind of world do we live in,’ she concluded.
In the 2023 season of Strictly Come Dancing, Nikita finished second with professional partner Gorka Márquez.
She formerly hosted the Saturday afternoon show and now broadcasts her daily breakfast show. Fans with keen eyes may have noticed her on Take Me Out in 2019.
