Strictly Come Dancing 2021 winner Rose Ayling-Ellis took home the series 19 glitter ball this weekend, but has been working with big stars for a while now.

The EastEnders actor, 27, made an appearance in a music video by boy band The Vamps, in which she raises awareness for the Deaf community as one half of a couple having an argument.

The 2017 Middle of the Night video stars Rose as a character’s girlfriend, and some of the lyrics were communicated via sign language.

The video was directed by Mike Baldwin and explores the couple’s struggles to communicate with one another.

It was released during Deaf Awareness Week.

While making history as the first deaf person to compete in Strictly, Rose continued to raise awareness for the Deaf community, which is something she championed right from the start.

In several of her routines with professional partner Giovanni Pernice, the two used sign language to communicate.

In their powerful couple’s choice routine to Clean Bandit’s Symphony, they also stopped the music and continued to dance in silence.

The Earth-stopping moment allowed viewers a glimpse into Rose’s world, and was praised by judge Anton Du Beke as ‘the greatest thing he’s ever seen’ on the dance show.

The pair revived the routine for the final, and scored a perfect 40 second time around.

11 million people tuned in to watch Rose and Giovanni lift the glitter ball on Saturday night in a groundbreaking final, which also saw first male-male coupling John Whaite and Johannes Radebe finish as runners up.

After becoming this year’s winners, the National Deaf Children’s Society hailed Rose as a ‘shining example.’

Chief Executive Susan Daniels OBE said: ‘It’s hard to overstate just what an impact Rose has made, not only on deaf children and young people, but also on the public’s understanding of deafness.’

There has also been a surge in sign ups for sign language courses and, according to language learning site Preply, the demand for learning sign language has increased by 100% over the series.

Rose is likely to be in high demand following her huge win, and it’s reported she could become a millionaire thanks to lucrative future projects.

We can’t wait to see what she gets up to next.
