Amy Dowden of Strictly Come Dancing has discussed cutting her head after experiencing terrible hair loss during her cancer treatment.
The professional dancer, 33, disclosed earlier this year that she had stage 3 breast cancer.
She’s since had a single mastectomy and is undergoing chemotherapy after doctors discovered new malignancies, forcing her to leave Strictly 2023.
While Amy has received overwhelming support from fans and friends alike, she has taken to social media to put on a brave face and give treatment updates.
Amy has recently stated in her Instagram stories that she is losing more and more hair and has requested fans for advice on how to deal with the loss.
And she’s replied to the notion after one openly ordered her to’shave it off’.
She wrote: ‘I’m personally not ready for this.

‘Everyone is different and how they cope or go about their journey is up to them and need to be what’s right for them.
‘I’ve had lots telling me just shave it. It’s only hair.
‘I’ve already gone through body changes for life, emotions, pain and right now I want to try save what I can with the cooling cap.’
She went on: ‘Absolutely to those who brave the shave, you are strong!
‘But please all remember everyone of us have different emotions, battles and deals with everything with what’s best for them and how they cope best!

‘All journeys are personal.’
Amy recently disclosed how much hair she has lost after returning home from the hospital.
She scribbled ‘Welcome home’ with a sequence of broken hearts while holding a clump of her hair.
She added: ‘So much everyday! So hard! One day at a time!’
The update came after Amy shared on Sunday that her second round of chemotherapy treatment had left her ‘hair shedding’, which she said was ‘heart-breaking’.
Posting a video of the hair that had fallen out, she wrote: ‘The reality when I gently comb’, with a broken heart emoji.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC later this year.
