Angela Rippon of Strictly Come Dancing had an unpleasant malfunction during Thursday night’s live broadcast, forcing her partner Kai Widdrington to jump in to aid.
Over the last four weeks, the radio and TV personality has dazzled BBC series viewers on the dancefloor, demonstrating she has what it takes to win the competition.
During Friday night’s performance, Angela, 79, and Kai, 28, did a passionate Rumba to Conchita Wurst’s Rise Like A Phoenix, with Angela falling into splits and glaring into the camera with a strong purpose.
A mistake happened as the duo made their way to the location where they would get their criticisms from the judges.
As Angela began to walk, she recognised that something was amiss with one of her shoes, maybe as a result of her gracefully rotating on one foot as part of the performance.
Tess Daly, the show’s host, voiced worry, and Kai didn’t hesitate to stoop down and address Angela’s shoe problem before the judging began.

Tess told viewers that there was nothing to worry about because it was only a ‘wardrobe malfunction’… Kai quickly repaired her shoe to the best of their abilities so that they could continue with the concert.
When it came to the judges, they gave the perfectly-matched couple wonderful remarks.
Anton Du Beke described their dance as “exactly the sort of Rumba I like,” and Craig Revel Horwood stated he “absolutely loved it.”
Motsi Mabuse did draw attention to the shoe mishap, before also saying: ‘I feel like you are just a message for all women out there, saying: “Don’t stop, life is good.”’

Shirley Ballas, the head judge, remarked that she was’shocked’ by the ‘wonderful’ dance.
Angela and Kai achieved a Rumba score of 31 out of 40, with three eights and one seven.
This put them in equal fourth place with Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice, who received the same score for their Foxtrot to Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere.
Meanwhile, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin took the top spot with 37 points for their dance to Whitney Houston’s Million Dollar Bill, as the duo got the first 10 points for a Cha-Cha-Cha in Strictly history.
The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
