The war has only just begun in Succession season 3, as a new trailer shows Logan Roy (Brian Cox) on a mission for revenge following the bombshell dropped by his son Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong).
At the end of Succession season 2, Kendall decided to do the unthinkable – rather than take the fall for his family’s company Waystar Royco, he instead publicly denounced his own father, calling his father a liar and setting off a huge conflict within the family.
In a new trailer released for the upcoming season, it’s revealed that the battle is going to heat up exponentially in the episodes to come, as Kendall and Logan face the aftermath of their public fallout.
The trailer also reveals first looks at Adrien Brody and Alexander Skarsgard in the show, with the pair joining as new cast members.
‘I dropped a bomb. The whole world is watching for my next move,’ Kendall says in the trailer, as Greg (Nicholas Braun) informs him that he’s the number one trending topic on social media.
Logan, on the other hand, is preoccupied by where every member of his family is and where their loyalties lie, saying: ‘My family has disappeared. I need to know where everyone is and what everyone’s thinking.’
Siobhan Roy (Sarah Snook), who watched her brother Kendall make his public and unexpected announcement from their father’s side, dubs her sibling a ‘little man who started this big war’, saying that he ‘sounds deranged’ as he remains hellbent on his plan to bring down their dad once and for all.
As deranged as he may seem, Kendall is convinced that he has a case against his father, which he hopes will not implicate his own standing within the company. Risky business indeed.
One thing no one should ever do, despite his old age, is underestimate Logan, who’s never one surrender when faced with a fight.
‘There’s blood in the water. Sharks are coming,’ he warns in an ominous voiceover.
While the posters recently released for Succession season three indicate that alliances may change as the episodes go on, Logan is hopeful he can rely on his daughter Shiv to stay loyal to him.
‘No one’s on my side in this. I need you to protect me Pinky,’ he tells her, in a moment of apparent vulnerability.
Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin), on the other hand, in his typically dry manner, discusses the prospect of his father dying while having a drink.
The trailer ends with Logan issuing a stark warning regarding the risks involved with living a high-profile life such as his and those of his family, stating: ‘This life is not for everyone. It’s a number on a piece of paper. It’s a fight for a knife in the mud.’
Logan unleashes his fury when Kendall tells him on the phone that he is ‘better’ than him, before making it clear just how he plans on approaching his family’s subterfuge.
‘I’ll f**king beast them. We’ll go full f**king beast,’ he says. They have been warned.
Succession season 3 will be available from Monday 18 October on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW.
