Sue Perkins injured filming Hitmen series 2 after four-hour bathroom stunt

Sue Perkins has revealed she injured herself while filming the second series of her Sky comedy Hitmen.

The former Great British Bake Off presenter joined her on-screen co-star Mel Giedroyc on today’s episode of Lorraine where she divulged the accident as she talked about the stunts she was assigned.

‘I did a couple [of stunts],’ Sue began, prompting Mel to add: ‘Yeah! You put your hip out in the loo scene, didn’t you?’

Sue eventually confessed that she was injured, after joking she was going to say everything went smoothly.

‘It wasn’t even a high kick, Lorraine,’ she shared. ‘It was a medium, sort of foal would do, a lazy foal. Put the hip out.’

‘She was doing it for four hours,’ Mel added. ‘And she came to me and said, “I can’t keep going with this”.

‘I had to headbutt a woman named Pandora for three hours,’ Sue continued. ‘She just flew across the room and smashed her head on the ceramic basin for three hours on a loop.’

Hitmen is Sky original comedy about two best friends trying to make their way in the world with only each other to rely on. They also just happen to kill people for a living.

The second series was filmed in seven weeks during the pandemic, with Mel revealing that nobody got ill.

‘It was a very well run ship, it really, really was,’ Sue agreed. ‘And everyone took the protocols very seriously. It’s not just us two hooning idiots, it’s a whole raft of 65 brilliant crew who needed to get back to work.’

In June, it was reported that Sue had split from her wife presenter Anna Richardson after seven years together.

The pair were said to be ‘devastated’ by their relationship coming to an end however those close to them hope they can still reconcile.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
