Meghan Markle’s former Suits co-stars have been accused of ‘shading’ her when it was discovered she was not a member of their group chat.
During today’s Golden Globes event, part of the actors of the courtroom drama, which lasted from 2011 until 2019, stepped on stage to accept one award.
The night concluded with the presentation of the Outstanding Drama Series award by Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, and Sarah Rafferty.
However, during an interview Gina gave on the red carpet, some claimed she was disparaging Meghan after stating they didn’t have her number.
Speaking to Variety before the concert, Gina was questioned about the cast’s joy at being asked to reunite, and Meghan came up.
‘When it all came through, we were all texting each other,’ she said.

‘Yes, our text thread is insane right now. So, it’s very exciting.’
When Meghan, who played Rachel Zane on the show from 2011 until 2018, was mentioned, Gina added: ‘We don’t have her number.
‘We just don’t. So, she’ll see, she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here.’
While some individuals expressed their comments on social media, claiming Gina was’shading’ Meghan and that the Duchess of Sussex had distanced herself from her old pals, many saw through the rumours and appreciated the answer.
‘Well played Gina. Classy deflection,’ one person posted on X.
‘Oh, I am sure they have her number but good reply lol,’ someone else shared.
Another added: ‘Sad people are already taking this the wrong way. It’s called SARCASM!!!’
Meanwhile, someone else mentioned how the Suits cast has always been respectful of Meghan’s privacy.
‘She said they don’t have her number. In other words, quit asking about her! Duh!’ the X user shared.
Gina mentioned Meghan and said she thought Meghan would be watching.
‘She’ll see, she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here,’ she added.
Before the Golden Globes, Gabriel avoided questions regarding Meghan, saying the following when asked if she will ever return to the show.
‘I think the question is how much money would it take to bring me back…’ he told The Mirror.
Despite her co-stars’ attempts to avoid discussing Meghan too much, she and husband Prince Harry were called out in presenter Jo Kay’s opening monologue.
‘Harry and Meghan Markle got paid millions for doing absolutely nothing – and that’s just by Netflix,’ he told the crowd, referring to the couple’s lucrative deal with the streaming service.
Suits is streaming on Netflix.
