Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard were left in darkness on Good Morning Britain after the studio lights went out for no reason.
The mishap happened during Thursday’s show when they cut to Andi Peters, who was hosting the competition segment via video link.
However, Andi spoke for a lot longer than he was meant to because, in the meantime, TV bosses were trying to get the studio lights back on.
‘You’re probably thinking, why is he talking so much?’ Andi finally explained to viewers.
‘I am talking a lot today because back in the studio, apparently, they haven’t got any lights, so I could be here for hours chatting.’
‘Ben, Susanna, are you alright? My iPhone has got a torch if that’s any help.’
The hosts then popped back on to the screen, but it was clear the lights were still not working.
‘We are trying that, seemingly it’s not enough, we are not sure what has happened,’ Ben replied.
‘Alexa turn the lights back on.
‘It’s extraordinary this because if we have a look at the studio you can see how many lights we have, and not one of them is on.’
Susanna added: ‘The house lights are on but it’s like you’re in a canteen, so we have that rather unflattering light.’
The camera gave viewers an aerial view of the studio, which showed all of the studio lights off still off.
Ben added: ‘That’s not enough lighting for us, not at our age! Did someone forget to pay the bill?’
The lights miraculously then came back on, as Susanna cheered: ‘Yayyyy, someone has turned it off and turned it on again.’
Well, it could have been worse guys!
