Susanna Reid brands Ben Shephard ‘revolting’ as he raves about bacon and peanut butter milkshake

Ben Shephard was branded ‘revolting’ by Susanna Reid as he revealed that he has been sipping on a meat milkshake.

And honestly, we’re not sure we blame her…

The host, 46, sparked a bizarre debate at the beginning of today’s Good Morning Britain episode when he detailed his recent trip to the cinema, where his son introduced him to a bacon and peanut butter milkshake.

Ben confessed that he was initially sceptical but he eventually gave it a go, and he was thrilled that he did.

As Susanna, 50, branded the drink ‘revolting’, he insisted it was ‘absolutely sensational’.

‘I promise you I’m totally converted. This is something I think we should all have,’ he said. ‘Who doesn’t love a bit of bacon?’

When Susanna replied that she didn’t like bacon, he continued: ‘Even lots of my friends that don’t eat meat, I’ve got Jewish friends, the one thing they all really, really wish they could have [is bacon].

‘The smell of bacon, delicious flavour, delicious taste…

’It was purely peanut butter with bacon bits. And it was amazing.’

Ben, to the heavy disagreement of his co-stars, predicted that bacon will be the next big thing we regularly add into milkshakes.

We’re definitely Team Susanna in this discussion, as were many viewers watching from home.

Flocking to Twitter to debate the snack, one commented: ‘Peanut butter milkshake with bacon that’s revolting.

‘Peanut butter on toast is delicious and peanut butter with apples slices really delicious. That is my morning breakfast with cup of tea and black coffee no sugar as well my point of view, @susannareid100 Xxx [sic].’

‘Peanut butter milkshakes are to die for, but with bacon? I don’t think so,’ a GMB fan said.

‘Can’t think of anything worse than peanut butter and bacon,’ another agreed.

It’s not all bad, as a Twitter user added: ‘I’d try it, with a bit of maple syrup.’

That’s another for Ben to try on his next cinema visit…

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
