Piers Morgan’s final episode of Life Stories is set to be an emotional one, and Susanna Reid has shared an update saying she was ‘so moved’ during the recording.
He filmed a conversation with Kate Garraway last night for his last instalment of the ITV series and his former Good Morning Britain co-host Susanne assured fans that they’re in for a tearful episode.
Susanna posted a behind the scenes picture of the recording, and shared a message with her followers.
She wrote: ‘So moved to be in the audience for @piersmorgan final #LifeStories with our wonderful friend @kategarraway which was emotional and uplifting. It will be on ITV soon. You won’t want to miss it.’
Piers is expected to have had an extensive chat about Kate’s career in the special, as well as her husband Derek Draper, who still remains unwell after contracting Covid-19, and is recovering at their family home.
He previously announced his plan to quit as host of Life Stories after 12 years, with final guest Kate named as his replacement. The journalist sensationally left his role on Good Morning Britain earlier this year and is set to quit his other long-running ITV gig too.
Piers is leaving the show after 100 episodes and judging by Susanna’s message, the last Life Stories episode is definitely one to look out for.
It comes after Kate admitted she is ‘hanging on the hope of a miracle’ while filming a new television programme, as husband Derek Draper’s Covid battle continues.
In March 2020, Derek was struck with Covid-19, and remained in hospital for over a year battling the after-effects of the illness, which wreaked havoc on his body.
The author suffered from rare brain inflammation and the virus attacked his lungs, heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas, with doctors saying that Derek had the worst Covid infection of any surviving patient.
His battle was highlighted in Finding Derek, which aired in spring this year and documented how Kate and her family coped when her husband was in hospital.
Life Stories is available to watch on ITV Hub.
