Daisy May Cooper gave her Taskmaster castmates shivers during the finale – by revealing tapes of her supposedly talking to ghosts.
The This Country star, who was seven months pregnant at the time of filming, revealed herself to be a believer of the paranormal and brought a memory stick of recordings to prove it.
Tasked with bringing in the ‘best collection of worthless things’ for Greg Davies and Alex Horne, Daisy revealed that she had attempted to speak to ghosts and had taped the results of the electronic voice phenomenomenomenoms (her words, not ours).
While Greg and the gang were quick to laugh her off, they were stopped in their tracks when they did actually start hearing someone talk back to her.
The first recording, which Daisy claims was done in a hospital, the actress was heard asking: ‘Is there anybody in here? Can you whisper or talk into the microphone which is here?’
In response, a female voice is heard faintly whispering: ‘Don’t be afraid.’
‘I definitely heard that!’ said Katherine Parkinson in response.
In the second one, Daisy asked: ‘Is there anybody here that has a message for me?’
To which another voice responds: ‘In the light.’
‘I just think that that’s extraordinary,’ Daisy said. ‘if you ridicule this i’ll be extremely upset.’
Mawaan Rizwan then spoke for all of us and declared: ‘That’s some freaky s**t!’
The results earned her four out of five points, with Mawaan Rizwan earning five for painting a collection of jars with emojis – and Greg Davies’ face.
While Richard Herring was ultimately crowned the winner of the series, we think Greg said it all when he said in the final round of Daisy: ‘Well… She’s the people’s champion.’
She really, really is.
Taskmaster is available on Channel 4 On Demand.
