A participant on The 1% Club has denied cheating when viewers discovered a suspicious clue.
The latest season of Lee Mack’s ITV gameshow concluded on Saturday, with a Big Brother star making a cameo.
among addition to recognising Yinrun among the audience, spectators were quick to notice what they felt was one participant cheating and attempting to give away the answer to other contestants, one of whom was his wife.
During the 20% question, which read ‘To which body part can you add one letter at the start to make it the word for the job it does?’ Jason Duckett appeared to be touching his ears.
However, he’s now insisted that although ‘ear’ was the right answer, the gesture was purely a coincidence.
The DJ said: ‘I almost admire the creativity of someone to come up with that because I hadn’t thought of that.
‘There was nothing to gain for either of us. We were both out. Anything I was doing it was to just sort of calm myself.’
He added to The Sun: ‘If you spin it, you could say my arms are folded. Was the answer harm and arm?’
Lee had previously chatted with the 36-year-old and his wife Rowena, who were also playing the game, and told him that he appeared’smug’ after ‘beating her’.
However, it was not meant to be, as both participants were eliminated from the game.
Viewers were convinced Jason had been cheating at the time, with Daryl writing on X: ‘I saw that guy touching his ear to give people a clue!’
‘Yeah I saw the Duckett bloke cheating by pointing to his ear,’ @ivorbiggins45 added.

Responding to some comments, The 1% Club account penned: ‘Maybe he had ear ache.’
A 1% Club spokesperson added to The Sun: ‘Any game show worth its salt attracts conspiracy theories. But happily, initial inquiries quickly established that there were no grounds for suspicion.’
Elsewhere, the final had viewers fuming over Lee mispronouncing reality icon Yinrun’s name.
On multiple occasions, Lee, 58, called her Runrun, saying once: ‘I’m so sorry to say that we’ve lost Runrun,’ after she got a question wrong, and even going on to make a joke based on her name.
‘Runrun, I’m so sorry. You need to change your name to Staystay.’
‘Just in case anyone is confused, I was given the name ‘Runrun’ on the show, but it’s still me, I don’t have a twin,’ the 26-year-old later said on Instagram.
Fans took to the comments section to voice their displeasure with Yinrun being referred to as an inaccurate name, with many assuming it was because Runrun was considered easier to say.
‘Totally not okay they changed your name because it’s “easier to pronounce” Yinrun is very easy to say, and even if it wasn’t, it still needs to be learnt and said! Yinrun is a beautiful name!🫶,’ wrote Molly, with the comment liked over 350 times.
The 1% Club is available to watch on ITVX.
