Warning: Spoilers for The Apprentice ahead!

The Apprentice 2022 continued tonight with Lord Alan Sugar firing Francesca Kennedy Wallbank, and the candidate has given her verdict on her time on the show.

Week five of Lord Sugar’s show saw both groups challenged with creating their own computer game, before pitching it to successful game investors.

However, after a costly spelling error was made, it was Francesca’s time to leave the show after her team, led by Brittany Carter, failed to take the victory.

Fans will be surprised to see the candidate – who was poised as a frontrunner to take the title – exit the show.

Even one of Lord Sugar’s aides, Karren Brady, thought she would end up winning the process.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other press after her firing, the candidate said: ‘To be honest, I’m not sure what Lord Sugar is looking for.

‘He’s obviously not looking for anyone with serious business acumen, otherwise, I would have won!’

She admitted she was also ‘shocked’ to be fired, adding: ‘I am someone that believes in fate and maybe the partnership with Lord Sugar just wasn’t meant to be.

‘He fired me because of a spelling error but he himself, in his autobiography, refers to his own spelling as atrocious, so I think we probably have more in common than he realises!’

‘I wish more of my performance in the other tasks were taken into account when the decision was made, after all, it is a process and everything that has happened prior should be taken into consideration, in my opinion.’

Fighting talk from Francesca indeed.

On who she thinks could end up with the investment from Lord Sugar, she gave a fantastic response.

‘I really think Britt is onto something. It’s an alcoholic drink with protein in it.

‘When she was explaining it to me, she was really enthusiastic and I definitely think there’s something in it.

‘Or he should listen to Karen Brady as she told me she thought I was going to win backstage of the ‘You’re Fired’ show,’ she teased.

After wowing with her fishing skills in last week’s task, Francesca also set the record straight on whether she actually did go out and catch all those fish.

She said: ‘I mean, fishing was really special. Going to Cornwall, meeting Ben the captain and seeing dolphins! And who knew I could fish that well – I don’t think I even knew I could!

‘And I really enjoyed heading down to the market stall afterwards and selling to everyone in Truro.’

Speaking to viewers who doubted her abilities, she responded: ‘How rude! As I say, I even surprised myself with how well I did.

‘Here’s an idea – take me fishing and then you’ll see my skills are all real.’

But who will be the next candidate to be fired from the competition?

The Apprentice continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
