The Apprentice runner-up Kathryn Burn said she wouldn’t change anything after fearing she’d be fired multiple times in the process.

The BBC series has been entertaining viewers in recent weeks, with Lord Sugar’s search for a new business partner finally coming to a dramatic conclusion last night.

The all-female final saw Kathryn and Harpreet Kaur reunite with some of their fellow candidates as they set out to launch their ventures.

It was ultimately Harpreet who won, as Kathryn narrowly missed out on the £250,000 investment.

But despite not securing the major backing for her pyjama business, Kathryn has no negativity towards the result and expressed how proud she is of Harpreet.

Asked if there was anything she would have done differently in the finale, she told Metro.co.uk and other press: ‘Not really, I’m really proud of my performance in the final.

‘Lord Sugar chose Harpreet because he thought she was the right business person for him – and that’s absolutely fine. I wouldn’t change anything, to be completely honest with you.’

Kathryn noted that while she had been in the boardroom a fair few times after some losses in the process, she didn’t have any regrets about how she acted.

She added: ‘Although I didn’t win a lot of tasks, maybe if I changed something, I wouldn’t be in the final, so I don’t really have regrets.

‘Whatever I did at the time, I thought it was a good idea!’

The entrepreneur watched previous episodes of the hit series after applying for the process to prepare herself, knowing she could smash the tasks in question.

Kathryn told us: ‘I always thought, “I could do that,” or, “I can do a better job than them!” so I definitely thought I was capable.

‘Obviously going through the process, there were many times I thought I was going to get fired, and to now be in the final and be a runner up, I’m just really, really proud of myself.’

She recalled celebrating with Harpreet back at the house after making it through the tough interview stage that saw Brittany Carter and Stephanie Affleck fired.

Knowing they’d made it to the finale, she said: ‘That evening, we had some champagne and we had a lovely takeaway with the production team.

‘We were just so proud of each other and we were just buzzing that we were in it together, because we become close really, really early on in the process – we started sharing a room right from the beginning.

‘To be in the final with my closest friend in the process was honestly amazing. It was really special.’

The Apprentice can be streamed in full now on BBC iPlayer.
