Katheryn Winnick stole the hearts of fans in the historical saga Vikings, which saw the actress take on the role of the famous shieldmaiden Lagertha.

And while we wait for the final ever season to drop onto the History Channel later this year, we have the 42-year-old’s latest project to look forward too.

The star has teamed up with the likes of Ryan Phillippe and Kylie Bunbury in the new crime drama, The Big Sky, which is set to launch on ABC November 17.

But before then, Metro.co.uk has put together everything we know so far about the latest series.

The Big Sky will follow the story of two sisters who were kidnapped by a truck driver in Montana.

Katheryn will be playing the ex-cop Jenny who gets roped into the investigation by private detectives Cassie Dewell and her ex-partner Cody Hoyt.

However, as they dig deeper into the mystery, it soon becomes clear that the sisters aren’t the kidnapper’s only victims.

The show has been written by David E. Kelly who also worked on Big Little Lies, The Practice as well as Lake Placid.

Chicago Fire’s Brian Geraghty will also feature in the show next to Alex Strangelove’s Jesse James Keitel, The Goldberg’s Natalie Alyn Lind, and Fargo’s John Carroll Lynch.

When is the release date and is there a trailer?

The trailer was released earlier this week, which revealed the show would premiere on ABC November 17.

Katheryn has been hyping up the project on Instagram all while sharing behind-the-scenes photos of the socially distanced set.

‘It’s out,’ Katheryn wrote alongside the teaser. ‘Check out the new trailer for BIG SKY. What do you think?’

Right on cue, fans rushed to the comment section where they told the star just how good the show looks.

And yes, we’ll definitely be tuning in.
