Warning: spoilers ahead for The Book of Boba Fett episode 3 on Disney Plus.

The Book of Boba Fett fans were left utterly astounded by a cameo in episode 3 from a certified movie legend, with one person describing the individual in question as an ‘all time GOAT’.

In the latest instalment of the Star Wars series on Disney Plus, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) continues to feud with the Twins (Jabba the Hutt), with the crime lord duo sending their Wookiee warrior Black Krrsantan (Carey Jones) in a terrifying assassination attempt.

After Boba survives the attack, the Twins offer the bounty hunter a gift – a Rancor, along with the beast’s trainer – none other than Machete, Desperado and Con Air star Danny Trejo.

Viewers were left in awe by the unexpected addition to the cast, with one tweeting: ‘Danny Trejo in #BobaFett who would’ve thought!’

‘Never in my life did I think I would see Danny Trejo as a Rancor trainer in mf Star Wars,’ another said, while someone else added: ‘Lmao wow Danny Trejo is in Star Wars that’s wild.’

One fan admitted that when Danny showed up, they ‘may have screeched like a middle schooler’.

‘I mean if anyone was gonna bring Danny Trejo into Star Wars…I F**KING LOVE THIS SHOW!’ another remarked – referring to the fact that episode three was directed by Robert Rodriguez, Danny’s frequent collaborator and second-cousin.

Danny wasn’t the only actor to set tongues wagging with his surprise arrival.

Early in the episode, Stephen Root appeared as Lortha Peel, a water vendor who asked Boba to help punish a gang of part-humans, part-cyborgs who were stealing his produce.

Several viewers expressed their shock over the Succession actor showing up, with one writing: ‘Stephen Root showing up in #BookofBobaFett is something I was not expecting lol.’

‘Stephen Root!!! This is gold,’ someone else said, as another added: ‘Stephen Root in Boba Fett???? Very nice!’

One fan pointed out that ‘it’s only a matter of time until Stephen Root turns up in a TV show’, referring to the fact that he is known for showing up in numerous TV programmes, from Boardwalk Empire to True Blood, Star Trek: The Next Generation, King of the Hill and NewsRadio.

The Book of Boba Fett is available to watch on Disney Plus with new episodes released on Wednesdays.
