The wonderfully wild season 3 of The Boys dropped on Amazon Prime Video this week, but will there be more to come from the superhero satire?
The hilariously mad series was back with a bang on the streaming service earlier this week, with viewers being treated to the first three episodes.
Following the events of season two, The Boys continues a year later, and literally everything has changed.
The rest of season three will drop each week, meaning there’s still plenty of time to speculate over the upcoming adventures of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Anthony Starr).
The finale will air on July 8 and while many fans are just getting started, some are already wondering whether there will be another season to come.
Will there be a season 4?
While Amazon Prime Video hasn’t officially confirmed another season, Billy Butcher star Karl has hinted there is more in the pipeline.
He appeared to reveal season four would be filmed towards the end of 2022.
‘I’m shooting ‘The Boys’ through the end of the year,’ he said, in a recent interview at Variety‘s SXSW Studio.
Elsewhere, Supernatural’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan has hinted he is optimistic that he will cameo in a potential fourth season of The Boys.
Showrunner Eric Kripke invited him to appear in season three, but he was unable to work due to schedule commitments.
Eric recently revealed he is still interested in having him involved, with Jeffrey recently tweeting: ‘I’ll make it work @therealKripke.’
While the renewal is still uncertain, it seems almost inevitable given the programme’s ongoing success and dedicated fanbase.
