Channel 4’s The Bridge is set for a major shake-up tonight when two new contestants are thrown into the mix.
Wellness coach Susie and ex-army commando Ross are set to join the 12 contestants already in the fold and will help the mammoth task of constructing an 850ft bridge from scratch in 20 days.
While the extra pair of hands will surely lighten the load, their presence will mean added rivalry for the £100,000 prize money.
In an exclusive clip shared with Metro.co.uk ahead of this evening’s scenes, the newbies are seen reading a letter explaining the situation that awaits them as they wait at a remote location.
‘I have built a bridge before,’ reveals Ross. ‘Not on my own, obviously, but I have built a few bridges in my lifetime.’
Looks like Ross’ skills are definitely going to come in use.
Speaking off camera, Susie explains that her practical skills are somewhat lacking.
‘It’s a little bit overwhelming, I’m not super practical,’ she shares. ‘I’ve never built a bridge before.’
Don’t worry, Susie. You’re not the only one.
Ross lost his left leg while touring Afghanistan, and recalling the incident in his VT, says: ‘You can’t get away from the fact that I’ve got a prosthetic leg.
‘Everyone stares at that. On the day I got injured, a couple of rounds hit the wall above my head. I got two meters away from the wall when it just went bang.
‘I’m the worst person you can say to, “You can’t do that”, because I will prove you wrong.’
Will Ross and Susie’s arrival ruffle a few feathers? Only time will tell…
The Bridge continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
