The Chase star Jenny Ryan hilariously claps back at being called a ‘smartarse’ in best way

The Chase star Jenny Ryan had the best reaction when a Twitter troll called her a ‘smartarse’ – demonstrating why the Vixen is an utter queen.

For the past seven years, Jenny, 39, has been one of the Chasers on the enormously popular ITV programme, going on to star on the spin-off show Beat The Chasers with her co-stars.

As an accomplished quizzer, dubbed the Bolton Brainiac, she boasts a wealth of knowledge, making her a worthy opponent to the contestants who go on The Chase.

However, one viewer took umbrage with her quizzing triumphs, telling her on Twitter: ‘You are our least favourite (apart from @ Darragh Ennis). You just come across as a complete smartarse.’

Rather than take offence, Jenny took the unwarranted jibe in her stride, responding: ‘Literally my job, babe x.’

Anne Hegerty, otherwise known as the Governess, also delivered a hilarious response, writing underneath the tweet: ‘Slightly affronted that you think I’m NOT a complete smartarse,’ while Darragh Ennis, aka the Menace, replied to Jenny, saying: ‘Ooh, I’m the least favourite? Finally I beat you at something!’

Several fans praised Jenny on her approach, with one commenting: ‘This guy getting roasted.’

‘Bradley does not understand the whole point of having professional quizzers on a quiz show. Be smarter than Bradley,’ another quipped.

Earlier this week, fellow Chase star Mark Labbett, known as the Beast, found himself in hot water following a tweet he shared about Carol Vorderman, who appeared on the celebrity version of the programme.

Fans were left in shock when Mark remarked on Carol’s ‘tangible assets’, which he apologised for in a subsequent tweet.

The former Countdown star jumped to Mark’s defence, saying on Twitter: ‘Well the Beast and I are having a bit of a laugh over this as he is a good buddy of mine and we always take the mick out of each other…. all hail the Beast @MarkLabbett and thank you Bradders and the gang for such a great show x.’

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
