During episode six of the latest series, Terra Nullius, Diana (Emma Corrin) and Charles (Josh O’Connor) were seen on their tour of Australia.
As they walked through to greet those who had been waiting to meet them, a young woman with brown hair and a yellow cardigan was seen excitably waving and cheering the pair on.
The eager woman was beaming as she watched the pair and shook the hand of Diana, who was wearing a bright pink outfit and interacting with the Brisbane residents.
And she looked the spitting image of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Unfortunately for them, another angle showed that it was likely not the Royal in question, and was instead just a very, very uncanny lookalike.
In fact, the Royal family have been completely quiet about the bioseries on their life, which in the latest offering spanned through 1979-1990.
Friends of Prince Charles have also branded the series ‘trolling on a Hollywood level’ as their pal was seen cold and distant from his bride Diana.
In the series, he was seen returning numerous times to first love, Camilla Parker-Bowles, and becoming more resentful at Diana’s stark popularity with the public.
The team went to extreme lengths to ensure that the accuracy between Corrin and O’Connor’s version of the Prince and Princess was spot on, even recreating outfits, photoshoots and interviews shot by shot.
Viewers’ response to the series has been overwhelmingly positive, with actress Corrin being praised for her ‘haunting’ portrayal of Diana in the doomed relationship.
This also shared a no-holds-barred look at her battle with bulimia, her eventual affair with James Hewitt, and her desire to be accepted within the monarchy.
The Crown is available now on Netflix.
