The Girl Before is beginning tonight and to say we’re excited is an understatement.
Jessica Plummer leads a star-studded cast in the psychological thriller, which was initially announced in March of this year.
The EastEnders favourite will be starring alongside rumoured boyfriend Ben Hardy, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Oyelowo.
There are four episodes to get stuck into, with the series airing nightly before concluding on Wednesday.
It will also be available as a boxset on iPlayer following the first instalment premiering.
Here is all you need to know about the book the series was based on before it begins.
Is The Girl Before based on a book?
Yes, and a pretty epic one at that – the upcoming series was adapted from the novel by the same name, by author JP Delaney.
It was first published in 2017, and became an instant bestseller around the world.
Since then, JP has gone on to pen follow-up book Believe Me, as well as The Perfect Wife.
What is the plot of The Girl Before?
The four-part series follows a woman called Jane [Gugu] who begins questioning her new surroundings in a mysterious house when she learns the cryptic fate of the previous tenant.
The official synopsis reads: ‘The Girl Before tells the story of Jane, who gets the chance to move into a beautiful, ultra-minimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect (David Oyelowo).
‘There’s just one catch: the occupants must abide by his list of exacting rules.
‘Jane starts to feel the house changing her in unexpected ways, but when she makes the shocking discovery about her predecessor, Emma [Jessica], she’s forced to confront unnerving similarities.
‘As the two women’s timelines interweave, Jane begins to question if her fate will be the same as the girl before…’
Anyone else already massively creeped out?
The Girl Before begins tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
