Emily Blunt found herself in an unusual position on the special New Year’s Eve episode of The Graham Norton Show, having to apologise for not having a story about sh****** herself.
It came after fellow guest Nish Kumar told a story about the time he ’sh** himself on a mountain’ while filming a travel show.
‘What a lovely story,’ Graham joked, laughing as Nish told the disgusting tale.
‘What is your mother going to say!?’ Emily added.
Guest Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall also admitted that he’d had a similar experience, prompting each guest on the show to tell their own stories on the subject.
‘I sh** myself on a bus in Turkey,’ Graham chipped in.
After Nish goaded Emily on and called for her to tell her own story, the actress apologised for having no embarrassing experiences to share with them.
‘I’ve never sh** myself, I’m sorry!’ she laughed, as Nish called her ‘Mary Poopins’.
Of course not – we never doubted you for a second Emily.
Emily was appearing on the show with her Wild Mountain Thyme co-star Jamie Dornan, with the programme airing on New Year’s Eve.
The trailer for the romcom became the subject of ridicule earlier this year, with Jamie’s exaggerated accent being slated.
Jamie was a good sport about the negativity aimed at the trailer though, telling host Graham on the show that he wasn’t bothered by it.
The 38-year-old said: ‘I thought the reaction was funny. ‘I’m from Ireland and our currency is taking the p***, so it’s rare to put something out there and not have the p*** taken. I’m all for it!’
Speaking about the film, Emily added: ‘When we read the script, we thought it was so bewitching and completely unique. ‘It is odd, lyrical and romantic so we are just excited for people to see it because it is so uplifting, and it certainly sweeps you away to a magical world. It is just a joy.’
The Graham Norton Show is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
