Warning: spoilers ahead for The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 episode 10 finale.
When June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) finally made her way to Canada in season 4 of The Handmaid’s Tale, reuniting with her husband Luke Bankole (O-T Fagbenle), it was a difficult transition period for both of them, especially with Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) so close by.
While Luke was aware that June had suffered traumatic experiences and would not be the same person that she was before, a heartbreaking moment in the episode 10 finale saw shock dawn on Luke’s face as he witnessed the ‘murderous rage’ that June has inside of her.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, O-T, who is one of the British stars nominated at this year’s Emmy Awards, recalled the scene where Luke walks into Nichole’s room, catching sight of June holding the baby with blood on her face.
Earlier on in the episode, June chased Fred to his death with other former handmaids in No Man’s Land, hanging his corpse on a wall and sending his finger to Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) after receiving help from Nick Blaine (Max Minghella) to enact her revenge.

After spotting the blood on June’s face, Luke sinks to the ground, his eyes glistening with tears as June insinuates that she’s soon going to be setting off somewhere else.
O-T explained that the moment was ‘an inflection point’ for Luke, as while ‘it may be unclear what exactly June has done, it’s clear that Luke no longer recognises the person who she’s become’.
‘The potential for murderous rage is more than the person he imagined her once to be,’ the Black Widow star said.
‘He’s also looking after a young baby, and so sharing a house with someone who he doesn’t know how to predict her actions is terrifying.’
The season four finale of The Handmaid’s Tale has left lots of questions in the air, including what June plans to do now that she has seen Fred meet his demise.

Earlier on in the season, Nick provided June and Luke with detailed information on the whereabouts of their daughter Hannah (Jordana Blake) in Gilead.
Therefore, with the help of several allies, June could venture back into Gilead to rescue her eldest child from the draconian society.
Within Gilead, Janine (Madeline Brewer) has been made a handmaid once again and has taken Esther (McKenna Grace) – the former Mrs Keyes – under her wing as a new handmaid.
Perhaps this means that Janine and Esther could work together to bring down Gilead from the inside?
During a recent chat with Metro.co.uk, O-T opened up about a deleted scene in season four that would have seen Luke and Fred come face to face before June’s escape to Canada.
The actor explained that the scene was the first one that he was in that was directed by his co-star Elisabeth, who directed three episodes of the latest season.
‘The first scene I was directed by Lizzie was a scene with me and Joe, where I go to him and I ask him to try and intervene and find a way to save June,’ he said
‘We are in a cell together and then he asks me to sit down and pray with him, and it’s almost like we sit down and we start to pray for June’s safety, but then Luke breaks away and tells him to f**k off basically.’
The Handmaid’s Tale is available to watch on Disney Plus.
