Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2 episode, Chapter 13: The Jedi.
The Mandalorian has finally confirmed the actual name of the lead character fans dubbed ‘Baby Yoda’.
It only took a season and then some but the 50-year-old infant – who has been has been referenced in promotional material as The Child – is no longer Baby Yoda.
While it will no doubt take time to shake off his Baby Yoda moniker, the creature which has been a marketing dream is actually called Grogu.
In the latest episode, titled Chapter 13: The Jedi, the fourth episode from The Mandalorian season two, we finally met Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), who communicated to Grogu though the force.
The instalment also explored Grogu’s bleak backstory. The child was taught at the Jedi temple on Coruscant, which was famously attacked in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
Grogu was salvaged, however, and escaped death and subsequently here we are.
Unsurprisingly, The Mandalorian fandom torn over Baby Yoda’s actual name
The Mandalorian season 2 continues Fridays on Disney Plus.
