BBC Breakfast viewers are convinced that Naga Munchetty is on The Masked Singer UK after she was missing from today’s show.
The presenter recently changed her hours on BBC Breakfast to coincide with her new role on BBC Radio 5 Live. She now presents the morning show from Thursday to Saturday.
However, for some unknown reason, on Saturday Naga was replaced by Rachel Burden, who hosted the programme alongside Charlie Stayte.
Taking to Twitter, viewers couldn’t help but come up with the theory that Naga was absent from BBC Breakfast because she was filming scenes for The Masked Singer, despite the talent show being filmed months ago.
‘@BBCBreakfast, it’s not a giveaway that @TVNaga01 is not there because she’s recording #TheMaskedSingerUK is it?’ one tweeted.
Another penned: ‘Will you be practising your next song for #TheMaskedSingerUK?’
‘Is Naga on The Masked Singer?’ one tweeted.
Naga’s name was previously mentioned by the judges on the show last weekend, with Davina McCall suggesting her as Harlequin.
‘Breakfast news, Naga Munchetty?’ she said.
However, Rita Ora disagreed as she replied: ‘There’s no way that voice is breakfast news.’
Naga recently addressed the rumours on her radio show and she didn’t deny that she was Harlequin.
She said: ‘What it’s got us talking about… and no we will not be saying whether or not I am Harlequin, that’s for the programme to continue and to keep you guessing.
‘All I would say is I think Harlequin has a fantastic voice and gave a fantastic performance.’
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
