The Masked Singer’s Traffic Cone may have had his identity rumbled, as Russell Watson has insisted his friend of 20 years, Aled Jones, is behind the mask.
Some fans are already convinced that the Walking In The Air singer is disguising his distinctive voice to appear on the show as Traffic Cone, but Russell, 55, reckons he can hear him perfectly.
‘I know who that is,’ he told Susanna Reid and Adil Ray on Good Morning Britain.
‘The strange thing is, I didn’t know who it was when I saw the first performance, I had no idea. Then I heard the second performance and I know who it is. I’m absolutely certain.
‘He’s not admitted it, he’s not mentioned it at all, but I’m convinced that is my mate Aled Jones.’
Songs of Praise star Aled has not made any reference to The Masked Singer, but plenty of fans have reached the same conclusion.
Other guesses for Traffic Cone include Peter Andre, Rick Astley, and Chris Kamara.
Another mystery celeb is set to be unveiled this Saturday, after Heather Small, Gloria Hunniford, Will Young, and Pat Cash have already been unmasked.

- The tennis references – it’s been reported that, while taking a break from singing as a child, Aled pursued tennis, getting to be a county level player
- He had a ‘gold-plated childhood’ – as a child star, Aled has recalled how he would get ‘gold and silver discs’ at the weekend and be back in school for the week
- He’s ‘here for competition’ – Aled hosts the Young Chorister of the Year competition as part of his role on Songs of Praise
- ‘There’s nothing like fans shouting your name’ – of course, Aled wouldn’t be a stranger to having fans shout his name, considering his background as a performer.
