Martin McCutcheon revealed that she could have had a different costume entirely on The Masked Singer UK.
On Saturday the former soap star was the latest celebrity to be unveiled on the ITV talent show.
The third episode of the bizarre singing show featured solo performances, in which Swan, Badger, Robin, Sausage and Dragon battled it out.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other press, the Love Actually actress spoke about her costume choice and that she could have ended up with a different outfit.
‘We had some zoom meetings and they had these really amazing drawings that they were showing me,’ she told us.
‘They showed me Robin and they showed Swan and they just wanted to find things that were kind of very loosely linked and that the only people that really knew me would know.’
The 44-year-old went on to talk about why, in the end, she picked Swan.
The Swan was relevant because I started off as a ballet dancer, and anybody that would have read my book may have known that but other people wouldn’t have.
‘I started off with my career in ballet and dance and then with My Fair Lady, Matthew Bourne (choreographer) did one of the biggest reinventions of Swan Lake and he choreographed My Fair Lady.
‘Obviously, lots of pubs are called the Swan and there was a big link to the fact that I was involved with pubs in some way shape or form as Tiffany (in EastEnders).’
Martine also revealed that she felt quite ‘claustrophobic’ in her Swan costume.
‘I was struggling to breathe in it,’ she added.
‘Underneath the sculpture, which was tall, beautiful and glorious, I actually had a head mask on and I could hardly speak or breathe because it was so tight.
‘I was sweating so much – it was really hot.’
The Masked Singer returns on Saturday at 7pm.
