LeAnn Rimes has been crowned the winner of The Masked Singer US season 4 after performing as the Sun.
The country singer took home the Golden Mask Trophy after she impressed judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke.
Landing the runner-up spot was Mushroom, who was revealed to be singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, while Crocodile was unmasked as musician Nick Carter.
After revealing her identity, LeAnn exclaimed: ‘I didn’t expect this to be this much work, I have to say. …I was thinking like, ”Oh, come on. This will be easy. This will be fun.”
‘And it was a blast.’
She continued: ‘I’ve totally been brought back to when I was a kid. And I remember I was five years old when I told everyone I wanted to sing.
‘And I’ve always wondered, like, how I knew at that age that I wanted to sing. And I kind of discovered it again behind this mask, and it was to give and receive love. And that’s, like, totally what happened.’
Jenny and Nicole correctly guessed that Sun was LeAnn, while Robin guessed Katharine McPhee and Ken picked Mandy Moore.
Speaking to Nick after her final performance, LeAnn confessed: ‘Honestly, the best part of this has been people being able to feel the essence of me without the preconceived idea of who or what I am.
‘And I feel like for the first time, people are actually hearing me and feeling me.’
The Masked Singer US is expected to return to Fox in 2021.
