Viewers of The Masked Singer think they’ve worked out who’s inside the Sausage costume – and they’re convinced it’s Sheridan Smith.
One of Sausage’s clues in their VT was that they were partial to ‘two beers and some potato snacks’, appearing to hint at the show Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, which Sheridan starred in.
The Sausage appeared to drop another huge clue after her performance, telling the judges that her ‘hair colour has been certified by law’.
Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross were quick to put two and two together and get Legally Blonde, in which Sheridan starred as Elle Woods on the West End from 2009 until 2011.
Other clues on the night suggested that she could be found with a hammer and set of nails because she loves DIY, leading the judges to ponder whether it might be a presenter of a DIY show instead.
The panel, which also includes Davina McCall and Rita Ora, had also pitched a fair few guesses about who the mystery singer might be.
Clues also seemed to point to Stacey Solomon, Billie Piper or Meghan Trainor, with references to the latter two’s songs seen in a VT on a pier in their first episode.
The panel, however, were unanimous that whoever was under the mask was probably a professional singer thanks to their faultless performances on both weeks.
The Sausage also described herself as: ‘a bit of a tomboy, but I really am a girly girl.
‘I love a bit of glam, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun and, to be honest, I’m a bit of a silly sausage,’ she added. ‘I just want to have a laugh.’
The Masked Singer continues Saturday from 7pm on ITV.
