Katy Perry was a relatable queen since she couldn’t locate her seat during King Charles’ coronation.
The American Idol judge, 38, was among the celebrities who came to Westminster Abbey on Saturday morning to see Charles made King before taking the stage to amaze the monarch at the coronation event on Sunday.
Grabbing everyone’s attention as she arrived at the service in a huge pink hat, absolutely nailing the fashion stakes, Perry went from being a glamorous Hollywood icon to proving that she’s just like the rest of us, struggling to find her seat among the celeb-packed crowd.
While many fans were just surprised to see the US diva at the event at all, the globe watched as the Roar chart-topper strolled about the abbey looking for her position.
‘Katy Perry not finding her seat is so me,’ cackled one viewer while someone else said they were ‘obsessed with Katy Perry trying to find her seat. And yes she looks stunning.’
‘The way she’s trying to look for her seat with that hat, it’s adorable and funny at the same time,’ one of her loyal fans noted with others were more concerned who would be sitting behind her and that hat.
Perry will play for His Majesty on Sunday, with her American Idol co-judge Lionel Richie and Take That, in a concert likely to be seen by millions across the world.
The singer first met Charles at an event in Mumbai in 2019 before he chose her as ambassador for the British Asian Trust.
Perry revealed she will be staying at Windsor Castle ahead of the two-day event, promising that she will be releasing ‘a lot’ of photographs from her weekend.
Guests were invited to arrive at Westminster Abbey by 7.30 a.m., with the service beginning at 11 a.m.
Stephen Fry, Dame Emma Thompson, and Dame Judi Dench were among the first celebrities to arrive early in the morning for the ceremony, while Ant and Dec were grinning as they posed with fans and took photographs with other visitors.
It is the first coronation in the UK since Queen Elizabeth’s in 1953.
