The Repair Shop’s Suzie Fletcher reveals co-stars ‘have become family’ after death of her late husband

The Repair Shop’s Suzie Fletcher has spoken about how her co-stars helped her deal with the death of her late husband, saying they ‘have become family’.

The 60-year-old’s husband died in 2013, eight months after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Suzie spoke on Monday’s Lorraine, and revealed that while she hadn’t allowed herself to grieve properly at the time, her co-stars helped her come to terms with it in the years that followed.

The saddle-maker told presenter Lorraine Kelly: ‘The people who come together here, we care deeply about one another. If someone’s not having a great day, we all rally around.

‘The Repair Shop have definitely become my family. It was a pivotal moment for me where I realised I hadn’t grieved the loss of my husband and my aunt. I had to change my entire life. The whole thing was incredibly emotional.’

She added: ‘It was a good moment in helping me open up and move forward and so relatable for the viewers because everyone goes through loss.’

‘But here, listening to everyone else’s stories, I realised I wasn’t alone. You feel like you can say anything here, and nobody’s going to judge you: they’ll wrap their arms around you, this repairs my heart.’

Meanwhile, The Repair Shop warmed the hearts of its viewers while reducing them to tears as Will Kirk broke down over a beautiful gift recently.

A festive episode of the BBC programme was shown, as the team repaired a treasured Polyphon, a sleigh, an 18th century painting and a cherished doll.
