YouTube star Joe Sugg is about to make his acting debut in new BBC drama The Syndicate, created by Kay Mellor.
The drama, returning after five years away, follows an ordinary group of workers at a dog kennels whose lives are turned upside down after they win a lottery.
The cast also includes Neil Morrisey, Katherine Rose Morley, Taj Atwal and Emily Head.
The Strictly Come Dancing star confessed he was feeling the nerves on set.
‘There were very much first-day-at-school vibes. Being surrounded by really good people, who’ve been in the industry since they were young, I had this terrible imposter syndrome,’ Joe said in an interview with The Times magazine.
‘It comes with anything I do. People think I had the easy route into it, that things have been handed to me on a plate because of my follower numbers,’ he added.

Joe is playing Sam, the boyfriend of Taj’s character Roxy – one of the staff members at the kennels – and viewers will hear him with a Northern accent in the role when the series kicks off tonight.
Is Joe Sugg Northern?
The YouTube star is actually a Southerner from Wiltshire, and received voice coaching to be able to pull off a convincing Yorkshire accent.
He told press: ‘I was putting on a Northern accent, so knowing that I am not actually from the North, for me it is like hearing your voice back for the first time again.
‘I’ve got a lot of fans who are from the North so I was worried about doing a stereotypical Northern accent.’

Creator Kay has praised Joe for getting to grips with a Yorkshire accent, saying: ‘It was a long-shot that he’d be able to do it… but he took direction really well and listened.
‘I think he will make a great actor.’
Joe has already been defended by actress Denise Welch, who hails from Tyneside, who told Loose Women that ‘the whole point of this is that we’re actors’.
She said: ‘I’ve played Southerners in things and I think I do quite a good Southern accent. If Joe is good in his part then I think, absolutely fine.’
What is The Syndicate about?
The drama follows staff at Woodvale Kennels who are concerned about their jobs as the business is being bought by a large company.
Staff member Keeley (Katherine Rose Morley) a gambling addict, plays the work lottery and after checking with newsagent Frank (Neil Morrisey), she is over the moon to learn she has won.
However joy turns into doubt when the staff suspect Frank might have made a mistake. Only he’s vanished…
The Syndicate starts tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
