Jaz Singh, the star of The Traitors, has landed a big presenting job on ITV’s This Morning.
The 30-year-old account manager became the country’s fallen hero in January after losing the reality TV show The Traitors in a nail-biting final.
As one of the two remaining ‘loyal’ participants entrusted with sorting out the ‘traitors’ on the programme, Jaz repeatedly proven himself to be the series’ greatest investigator.
Throughout, Jaz would calmly inform the cameras about his theories, which were usually always correct, while the rest of the group flailed around, barking up the wrong tree, resulting in a lot of TV-directed ranting back home.
In a devastating finale, fellow loyal Molly Pearce failed to recognise her buddy Harry Clark as the traitor he was, resulting in his taking home the entire prize fund, leaving Jaz and herself impoverished.
Of course, all of the deceit was in the spirit of the game (well done, Harry), but that doesn’t stop Jaz from being the country’s very own ‘Jazatha Christie’.
It seemed only logical, therefore, for ultimate investigator Jaz to produce a small documentary series on Agatha Christie, especially since he professed to not knowing who the great author was.
‘By the order of This Morning, you have been sent to Torquay for an Agatha Christie tour,’ Jaz said in the advert for the upcoming miniseries, reading a letter in a nod to The Traitors’ eviction format.
As footage played, Jaz continued: ‘After playing the toughest murder-mystery game of all time and being dubbed “Jazatha Christie”, I’ve been sent down here to find out more about this queen of crime.’
The Manchester native definitely deserves a nice daytime TV pay packet, after all of his work in the Scottish castle on the BBC show, and because he’s got a particular history that’s eerily significant to the show that brought him fame.
Jaz opened up after the final about his devastating family history, which he briefly discussed on the show.
In an early episode of the series, the TV star hailed his father as his ‘hero’ until it was revealed that he was leading another life with a ‘whole second family’.
‘There’s been sort of no reaching out from him,’ Jaz said, talking to Metro.co.uk about whether he’d had contact with his father since appearing on the show.
‘I think he understands and accepts that he should go his way and we should go our way,’ he explained.
‘I think he respects that fact, that obviously now he probably understands the level of pain that he’s caused.’
After sharing his tale, Jaz realises he is not the only one who has gone through this heinous ordeal.
‘It’s given people encouragement to come forward and come to me to say, “Thank you for making us feel not alone,”’ he said.
Jaz continued: ‘I hope I’ve given some people out there hope to just say, these things happen and it’s okay and we can just move forwards as best as we possibly can. Just surround yourself with the right people. Anything’s possible.’
