Harry Clark, the Traitors winner, has offered to split some of his prize money with Mollie Pearce, the runner-up.
The 23-year-old army engineer took home the whole prize fund in Friday’s heated final, leaving the model distraught after discovering he had been lying to her from the start.
Mollie almost voted for Harry to be booted from the show in a dramatic finale, but she couldn’t bring herself to betray her friend, instead banishing Jaz at the last second.
It meant she departed the castle empty-handed, but happily, Harry made a peace offering after conversing shortly after the climax was recorded last year.
‘He promised me a holiday, and I’m pretty happy with that,’ she said on BBC Breakfast over the weekend.
‘It was a game and at the end of the day, we all sign up for it. You go in with the chance of getting hurt so it’s all good vibes here.’
She hasn’t had her vacation just yet, though, since Harry has disclosed that he just received the large sum on his way to another TV appearance on Monday.
On ITV’s This Morning, it was noted that the winners of such gameshows often do not get their rewards until after the event has broadcast.
‘I literally got the money on the way here,’ he revealed to hosts Rylan Clark and Rochelle Humes.
Harry, whose partner is CBBC broadcaster Anna Maynard, has also denied having romantic emotions for Mollie, maintaining that they are only good friends.
‘There’s no romance involved. I’ve got an amazing girlfriend who I love dearly, so has she! She’s got an amazing boyfriend who I have met, he’s a legend,’ he explained.
‘So I feel a little bit sorry for them. We’re just two young people who built a genuine connection. I know more about her boyfriend than I do about Molly! She knows more about my girlfriend than she does about me! That’s how we connected!’
Fortunately, their friendship has survived the way The Traitors ended, with Mollie eager to ensure him understood the nature of the game.
‘That shows our bond because when it finished, she was still worried about me and didn’t want me to feel like she hated me,’ he said.
He recalled her saying: ‘I love and hate you at the same time.’
‘I wouldn’t blame her if she still hated me now,’ he candidly admitted.
With a large prize amount already in his account, Harry has also admitted that he never intended to divide the money by allowing fellow traitor Andrew to finish the game alongside him.
‘Nah. It sounds so bad and greedy, but to me, I thought, I’ve got this opportunity to win it, it’s in the bag,’ he explained. ‘The game’s called The Traitors!’
How much is The Traitors prize money?
In the United Kingdom, the Traitors’ winnings are limited to £120,000.
The money accumulates during the game through daily tasks that allow competitors to contribute to the prize pool.
This year, Harry earned £95,000.
The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
