Rita Ora experienced an emotional breakdown while seeing his kid audition for The Voice Australia.
The 32-year-old pop musician sits on the panel of judges for the Australian edition of the singing competition, with Jason Derulo, 33, Jessica Mauboy, 33, and Guy Sebastian, 41.
And, as with any iteration of The Voice, there are plenty of heartbreaking moments, with one supporting father winning fans’ hearts everywhere.
Chris Watson, 53, auditioned for the famous Channel Seven reality show in the hopes of inspiring his daughter, Shanae, 21, to overcome her stage fright and perform.
It was a contentious rule modification, but The Voice executives approved it, and Shanae was permitted to perform in front of the coaches after meeting them previously during her father’s performance.
But no one was expecting what happened next.

‘Shanae can come back to audition, but coaches you won’t know when she’s going to appear,’ host Sonia Kruger explained.
Despite her father’s trust in her, coach Guy kept on telling Shanae that whether or not a chair turned for her had nothing to do with her ability as a vocalist.
‘Just remember, even if you don’t get a chance it doesn’t mean it’s just another defeat and then you give up,’ he said to her.
‘I’m just taking the heat and the pressure off ourselves in case we don’t turn for you!’

Shanae, on the other hand, had no cause to be concerned, as she went on to stun the judges and crowd with her version of Sia‘s Chandelier.
The kid stunned everyone with her powerful voice as the final performance on the first day of blind auditions.
Hitmaker for Ridin’ Solo The first judge to hit his button and turn around was Jason, who was followed by Guy, Rita, and Jess.
Dad Chris was soon experiencing an emotional breakdown due to his inability to disguise his pride.

Leaning on his wife as he took in the moment, he sobbed and later said: ‘I’m sorry, I lost it.’
When the judges gained a sight of the girl behind the voice, they recognised Shanae from her father’s audition.
‘That’s the daughter!’ Guy said excitedly.
Guy then joked that Chris saying his daughter was ‘good’ was an ‘understatement’.
Emotional also, Jasosn said: ‘I’m not a crier, but ooooph, that got me.’

Full of praise for the aspiring recording artist and her family, he added: ‘I want to take a second to actually talk to dad. I am really, really inspired by you and the fact that you went out on a limb so that your daughter could see your courage and she could find the courage for herself. And I think that’s just such a beautiful thing.’
‘And I just want to thank you for that because it really, really inspires me as a father.’
With watery eyes, Hot Right Now hitmaker Rita chimed in: ‘Your father, when he started crying – that got me, just really got me.’
‘It just shows that there’s no ego, there’s no pride, this is just a complete win for the whole family. And that’s what this is all about.’
