Following Olly Murs’ confirmed axing and Anne-Marie’s speculated departure, The Voice may have two vacant red seats, and they are apparently eyeing LeAnn Rimes.
The American country and pop music artist is claimed to have met with ITV to discuss the possibility of becoming a judge on the singing competition, which is taped in Manchester.
Although it is ‘early days,’ they may be able to ‘carve up a solid deal’ with the Can’t Fight the Moonlight singer.
‘ITV believes she would make an excellent coach, and LeAnn is eager to see whether she can make it work with her schedule,’ a source told The Sun.
In the series’ early episodes, the judges listen to auditions but can only see the hopefuls if they press the button that causes their seats to rotate around.
If numerous judges press the button, they must pitch themselves as mentors, and if successful, they guide the hopeful through the tournament.
LeAnn would undoubtedly have some impressive accomplishments to get the auditionees interested; she has sold over 37 million albums worldwide in her 30-year career and received several accolades, including two Grammy awards.
If LeAnn, 41, joins the UK reality programme, she would sit beside Sir Tom Jones and would.i.am.
Olly taped his final series in 2023, and Jen and Liv were the first group to win the UK programme.
The former X Factor host was honest about how sad he was to be departing: ‘I’m gutted. I got the call last week to say I won’t be back on the show, and it’s a bit of a shock, to be honest. I didn’t really expect that to come,’ he said in September.
ITV last year, did not deny Anne-Marie had been axed from The Voice.
