The Voice never fails to deliver talent that blows our minds, but even John Legend wasn’t prepared for when John Holiday hit the stage.
After working on the show for several different seasons at this point, it would make sense for the judges not to be surprised by singers anymore.
But Holiday’s voice was so amazing that Legend immediately knew he wanted the singer on his team after hearing one note.
During the season 19 premiere last night, the talented singer took to the stage to deliver an incredible performance on Ella Fitzgerald’s Misty.
Holiday is a full-time professional opera singer who has already performed to audiences all over the world so he was more than ready to dazzle in the Blind Auditions with his unique vocals.
Legend cleverly blocked Kelly Clarkson from trying to get Holiday on his team, so it was Legend and Gwen Stefani who ended up fighting for the contestant.
‘Us Johns gotta stick together,’ said Legend teased as he attempted to win over the countertenor to his side.
And it worked as Holiday chose to join #TeamJohn.
The Ordinary People hitmaker was delighted as he claimed Holiday was the ‘best performer’ he had ever seen on the show.
