The Voice is back for another season of unbelievable talent, playful rivalry between the judges and all the feel-good fun it is known for.
And as Season 19 premieres tonight with the first set of Blind Auditions, fans have already been treated to one performance that left the judges stunned.
Tamara Jade hit the stage to perform Lizzo’s hit track, Cuz I Love You, and it is safe to say she made quite the impression.
Her amazing vocals left Kelly Clarkson all but speechless, while fellow judges John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani also hit their buzzer for Tamara.
Yes, even Country king Blake Shelton turned around for the powerhouse singer because her talent meant he ‘finally said, “Screw it” [and turned around]. Artist to artist, this makes zero sense for you to go with somebody like me, but coach to artist, I think it makes perfect sense.’
The coaches couldn’t stop raving about Tamara, praising everything from her stunning vocals to her hilarious personality.
Kelly gushed: ‘Everybody needs to be inspired right now. That’s why this is called The Voice. You want someone that really moves everyone. And that’s you.’
Thing will be a bit different this series due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with the show having to follow strict safety protocols.
Thankfully, the judges already spend most of the Bling Auditions sat separately in their big red chairs but the rounds will have a ‘virtual audience’ and contestants won’t be able to hug their chosen mentors.
Blake explained ahead of the premiere, created a “new dynamic” for the coaches, as they were able to listen to the hopeful performers without any crowd noise.
He added: ‘We’re able to hear the artists in a way that we’ve never heard before — and we’re able to hear the insults coming from the other coaches in a way that we’ve never heard them before
Blake continued: ‘They’re really cutting through.’
