The Walking Dead fans are just a tad concerned for Maggie Rhee after the first picture of her return dropped and appears to show she might be in some very immediate danger.
Lauren Cohan left The Walking Dead back in season nine to pursue new ventures; namely her flop sitcom Whiskey Cavalier that was pulled after one season despite critical acclaim.
Maggie’s exit was somewhat overshadowed by the simultaneous departure of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the fact we never actually saw what happened to her.
Thankfully, after an agonising wait, Maggie is back and armed with a bow and arrow.
However, in a teaser of her return, look closely and you’ll spot a masked figure appearing to creep up from behind her.
Naturally, fans are a tad concerned:
The Walking Dead is set to return for an extended season 10, with AMC adding six more episodes to the current cycle, before the final season ever launches later this year as the zombie epic nears to an end.
Showrunner Angela Kang promised Maggie will have ‘an important role to play’ in the upcoming instalments.
‘She’s going to learn some information about what’s going on, and Maggie being Maggie, she’s like, “Oh s**t, my friends are in trouble!”
‘Also, Maggie’s got her own story she’s been living in, so that’s something we’ll explore later on down the line. But there’s sort of an immediate thing at hand she has to deal with.’
Maggie will be confronted with Negan for the first time since he bludgeoned her husband and the father of her unborn child to death with his barbed-wired baseball bat, Lucille.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 28 and drops a day later on Fox UK.
