The Walking Dead: Will Leah return for Daryl? Actress Lynn Collins teases what’s to come

The Walking Dead finally gave Daryl a love story – but in a sad twist, his relationship with Leah was over before it even began.

Meeting during the five-year time jump, Leah (played by Lynn Collins) was as much of a lone world as Daryl (Norman Reedus), and as he hunted for his friend Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), he would find solace with the feisty newcomer.

However, as he became so focused on finding Rick, Daryl and Leah parted ways – only for him to realise too late he maybe should have stayed.

Speaking to TV Insider, Lynn explained: ‘I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Leah for sure fell in love with him. If it wasn’t the apocalypse, would these two be a match? Who knows.

‘In some ways, these two are so similar. Both have lost so much and both cope with that loss by isolating themselves. And yet there’s no way to get away from each other. It’s so meant to be.”

So… will she come back?

‘We’re just going to have to keep watching!’ Lynn teased. ‘I think the writers have done an incredible job with those six episodes, so if it does progress, we’re in for a treat.

‘And if it doesn’t, there are all sorts of other options where this could go.’

While Daryl may have let Leah go for now, he still keeps some memory of her in the form of his dog, who he first met when it led him to Leah’s cabin.

They got off on the wrong foot as she didn’t take too kindly to a stranger trespassing on her territory – but they eventually went on to spark a romance.

The new episode is part of the specially extended season 10, which saw six episodes added to the season run before the 11th and final season start by the end of the year.

Other episodes coming up includes a look into the history of Negan and what happened to his wife Lucille, who had cancer when the start of the apocalypse occurred.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC on Sunday in the US, and Mondays at 9pm on Fox in the UK.
