The Weakest Link: Clair Norris has Romesh Ranganathan in hysterics after claiming Cheryl ‘named baby after a pig’

We’ve seen some rogue answers on The Weakest Link over Christmas, but EastEnders star Clair Norris took things to another level on Thursday’s show.

The actress left Romesh Ranganathan and her fellow contestants in hysterics after having a bold guess at a question that took everyone by surprise.

Clair, who plays Bernadette Taylor in the BBC One soap, was asked a question about celebrities on the BBC programme, with the subject of stars’ baby names coming up.

She was asked: ‘Singer Cheryl and the actress Kate Winslet both gave birth to boys and named them after what animal?’

The correct answer was Bear, but Clair went with the answer ‘A pig’. Safe to say, it had everyone in hysterics around her.

She realised her mistake but it was too late, and it capped off a round which saw the team bank £850 out of a possible £2500.

‘And I am seriously going to think about calling my next kid Pig,’ Romesh said.

He added: ‘You went there and said, I think someone would call their kid – not just pig – but a pig.’

The reboot of the show has featured more than one talking point over the last week.

Georgia Toffolo was left apologising to Nina Wadia after savagely explaining why she should be voted off on last night’s episode.

The Made In Chelsea star was competing against Russell Kane, Kriss Akabusi, Maisie Adam, Dan Snow, Lesley Joseph, Judy Murray, and Nina for a chance to win some cash for her chosen charity when she was called out by presenter Romesh for her brutal remarks.

It came after Jennie Bond hilariously didn’t know what WFH stands for in scenes that aired on Tuesday.

The Weakest Link is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
