This Morning cleaning expert Lynsey Crombie opened up about the moment she discovered her husband was a sex offender.
The resident presenter joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the programme where she revealed that she had no idea about her partner’s criminal past before they wed and was only told months following his arrest – and after she’d given birth to his twins.
‘One morning there was really aggressive banging on the door and it was the police and they basically just ransacked my home, took loads of stuff and took him away,’ Lynsey recalled of the incident, which took place 17 years ago.
‘I had no idea. I had gone back to visit my parents for a few days and I just thought, “what’s gone on while I was away?” A day later, I went into early labour with the twins.’
At this point, Lynsey was still unaware of her husband’s crimes and she remained unaware for the next six months.
‘The girls went on the child protection register as soon as they were released from hospital which was a hell of a label for me to carry around with me and I felt like I was being judged as well,’ she said.

‘I didn’t get the full story of what he’d actually done until November.’
‘We won’t go into any of those details, but what we will say is he is a schedule one sex offender,’ Phil said.
‘That means he’s convicted of an offence against a child.’
Lynsey revealed that her husband’s family was aware of his history but kept the truth from her.
She added to Holly and Phil that there is no contact with her past and she’s now in a good place.
‘I still sometimes have dark moments,’ Lynsey said. ‘I always think that I’ve come such a long way.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
