This Morning is scheduled to undergo a ‘major redesign’ following the departure of its two anchors this year.
Phillip Schofield, 61, resigned from ITV’s breakfast show in May after confessing to lying about a ‘unwise but not criminal’ romance with a considerably younger colleague.
Then, over the weekend, Holly 42 announced her departure from the programme, calling it a “difficult goodbye.”
Holly has been hosting with a variety of other ITV personalities, including Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, and Craig Doyle, during the last two months.
However, with the programme currently missing a regular presenter, executives are rumoured to be considering a ‘major redesign’ in the coming months.
The broadcaster is apparently looking for the ‘new Phil and Holly,’ with untested hosts taking over on a renovated set beginning in January.
‘It has been a turbulent 12 months culminating in a seismic past few weeks,’ a source has now said.
‘Holly’s decision to leave has sent shockwaves through the corridors of power at ITV, but the feeling now is that change must be made — and this is the impetus needed.
‘This Morning boss Martin Frizell will continue to lead the charge and is working tirelessly to give viewers what they want — a warm, buzzy, feel-good magazine show, marshalled by two fresh new anchors,’ they added when speaking to The Sun.
They added: ‘A stream of exciting presenters, from all different walks of life, will meet with execs over the next few weeks until they find a pairing with the perfect chemistry.’

Ben Shephard of Good Morning Britain, who just joined Holly on This Morning, is one name in the running to replace Schofield.
He will be screen-tested alongside a slew of ‘exciting’ female names.
According to the source, the programme was ITV’s “most profitable daytime brand,” and it was as much about the concept as it was about the stars.
‘The goal is to bring back the chemistry of the show’s halcyon days and get viewing figures back up to the million mark,’ they said.
‘Every effort is being made to achieve this.’
This Morning celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, having first aired in 1988.
It was formerly hosted by Richard Madeley and Judy Finnnigan, Fern Britton, Ruth Langsford, and Eamonn Holmes, until Holly and Phil took over in 2009.
When announcing she was leaving the show, Holly thanked ‘everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years…every guest who has sat on our sofa and the wonderful viewers’.
She said she would miss them all ‘so much’.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
