This Morning viewers devastated at Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford’s last day: ‘Give them a regular slot!’

Viewers of This Morning took to social media to call for Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford to be given a regular slot again after presenting the show across the summer.

The pair had been covering for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for seven weeks across the summer after having left their Friday slot in December.

The telly husband and wife had stepped down from presenting on Fridays in December to make way for new duo Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Following their laughter-filled seven weeks back at the helm, viewers were devastated that the run had come to an end.

They tweeted: ‘Good Morning #ThisMorning Peeps. Happy Friday. I can’t believe it’s Eamonn and Ruth’s last summer show.’

Others added: ‘so sad it’s youre last day this summer. You have made me laugh and made me cry. THANK YOU!!’ and ‘7 weeks of pure joy. The professionalism, banter and laughs have made it the best’.
