This Morning’s Eammonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have reportedly been replaced in their weekly slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
Eamonn and Ruth, both 60, have been presenting the show for 14 years.
An insider told The Mirror: ‘Eamonn is pretty furious and everyone feels for him and Ruth, they are well liked on the team, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made.’
They added of Alison and Dermot: ‘They have real warmth. It’s time for change and they are perfect.’
Alison, 45, and Dermot, 47, are said to have impressed bosses when they took over hosting duties this summer during the Friday slot.
Former Big Brother contestant Alison has also been hosting segments for the show since 2003, and presented her own documentary Back To School earlier this year.
Dermot, meanwhile, is best known for presenting The X Factor.
They have also been taking over on Monday to Thursday during the summer school holidays, when Holly and Phil typically take a six-week break.
Earlier this year, it was rumoured that Eamonn and Ruth would be leaving the show, with the Irish star addressing the claims on Twitter.
Fans were worried about the fate of the two, with one tweeting: ‘Executives at @thismorning best not be trying to axe @EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL to fill their diversity quota.
‘They’re brilliant hosts and nothing about the show needs changing! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! @ITV#ThisMorning#ITV ‘.
The Irish star saw the post and responded with the praying hands emoji.
