This Morning’s Ruth Langsford spotted out and about after hosting final Friday slot

Ruth Langsford was spotted out and about this weekend after she and husband Eamonn Holmes hosted their final Friday slot on This Morning.

The couple bid farewell to viewers on Friday before they are replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in the New Year.

Eamonn and Ruth will return to present during key holidays, with the pair set to come back to host in February.

Following her last show, Ruth was spotted out shopping on Sunday, grabbing some last-minute Christmas presents.

The ITV host, who was dressed in a black fluffy-hooded coat and a pair of big sunglasses, looked relaxed as she picked up a coffee.

Following their exit, Eamonn and Ruth have been flooded with numerous messages of support, including from Alison and TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal.

On Saturday, Eamonn also posted a video on Instagram expressing his thanks to all who have reached out to him and Ruth.

‘Just want to say something to you all from the bottom of my heart, and that is: thank you,’ he said in the video.

‘Ruth and I have been absolutely overwhelmed yesterday and today by the amount of messages and we’ve been replying on social media, by email, by text, by Whatsapp, whatever way we can.’

Eamonn said that he and Ruth, 60, ‘do feel the love’, saying that they ‘really appreciate’ the outpouring of support.

However, he then jokingly told his fans to ‘stop’ sending them so many messages.

‘It is Christmas time, mistletoe and wine, we’ve all got things to do. So thank you. Get on with your lives, we certainly intend to get on with ours,’ he stated.

During Friday’s instalment, Eamonn couldn’t help but make a cheeky comment about how they were ‘getting rid of us’ on the show.

Nonetheless, he ended the programme by urging viewers to be ‘nice and lovely’ to his and Ruth’s successors Alison and Dermot, describing Alison as a ‘very close’ friend.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
