Tiger King was one of the most talked-about shows of 2020 and now it’s back for more, as season 2 drops on Netflix this week.

The second season of Tiger King was confirmed back in September after the first became a massive hit for the streaming service.

Fans will continue to see Joe Exotic plot against arch-enemy Carole Baskin despite being behind bars, as well as taking another deep-dive into the disappearance of her ex-husband Don Lewis.

The upcoming season promises ‘more madness and mayhem’ according to Netflix – here’s everything you need to know about its release time.

What time is Tiger King season 2 released on Netflix?

The good news is there’s not long for fans left to wait for the release of new episodes.

Tiger King season two premieres at 8 am GMT on Wednesday, November 17, which is 12am PT.

The sequel will consist of five new episodes for fans to dive into.

The synopsis from Netflix promises the return of all the recognisable faces that made season one such exciting watching.

It reads: ‘With Joe Exotic behind bars and Carole Baskin closing in on ownership of his disreputable zoo, the Emmy-nominated saga continues its twisted course with Tiger King 2…

‘Newfound revelations emerge on the motivations, backstories, and secrets of America’s most notorious big cat owners.

‘Old enemies and frenemies, including Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark, Allen Glover, and James Garretson return for another season of murder, mayhem, and madness. Thought you knew the whole story? Just you wait.’

It remains to be seen just how much Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – will star in the series as he continues to serve a 22-year prison sentence for animal abuse charges and a murder-for-hire plot.

He also revealed he was recently diagnosed with cancer, but he is sure to appear in some form as he’s already made it to the trailer.

Baskin is not expected to feature in the same way as in season one, having previously told she doesn’t understand how the series is being made.

‘I don’t know how they put out a Tiger King 2 when Joe’s in jail and I’m refusing to be played again,’ she said.

Although she does feature in the below trailer, this is not believed to be new footage that has been filmed for season two.

Is there a Tiger King season 2 trailer?

Yes, there is a trailer for Tiger King’s second season – and it promises a tonne of drama.

It’s soundtracked to Cabaret’s Maybe This Time, featuring a voiceover from Exotic from prison.

The teaser also promises another look at the mysterious disappearance of Don Lewis, Baskin’s late husband.

Lewis was declared legally dead in 2002 but it seems there’s more to find out about this for viewers in the new episodes.

Season one dropped on the streaming service in March last year, around the time Covid lockdowns began and saw it quickly become one of Netflix’s most popular shows.

Tiger King lands on Netflix on Wednesday, November 17 at 8am GMT.
