Tiger King’s Joe Exotic believes he’s ‘too innocent and too gay’ for Trump pardon

Tiger King’s Joe Exotic reckons he was ‘too innocent and too gay’ to be pardoned by former president Donald Trump.

The zookeeper was denied clemency from the ex-leader despite his team predicting he’d be freed from his 22-year sentence for animal abuse and the murder for hire plot against rival Carole Baskin.

Although there was a limo waiting outside the prison to take Exotic home, he was not one on the list of those granted pardons – and, unsurprisingly, he’s not happy about the verdict.

‘I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump,’ Exotic’s legal team fumed on his official Twitter account.

‘I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post.’

He added: ‘Boy were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first.’

Despite Exotic’s pardon request being denied, his team have announced they’re continuing their fight for his freedom.

‘140 million Joe Exotic fans had a hard time getting out of bed this morning,’ a spokesperson for his team told Metro.co.uk. ‘We are as disappointed that the president did not sign Joe’s pardon, as we were confident yesterday that he would.

‘It is only because of you 140 million fans that Joe’s pardon was even a possibility.

‘Since his trial, the evidence has made it clear that Joe is not guilty but, rather, he is a victim of the persons he trusted most.

‘Team Tiger, just this morning spent two hours on the telephone with Joe and listened to his Direct Appeal Oral Arguments by Brandon Sample in Colorado.

‘We will not stop, we will not rest until Joe’s injustice is corrected.’

Nobody is more relieved than the outcome of Exotic’s pardon than Baskin though.

Although she’s still living in fear that she’ll be killed by people in the tiger industry, she is glad it’s finally come to an end.

Tiger King is available to stream on Netflix.
