Tom and his dancing partner Amy Dowden were absent from last weekend’s programme after both testing positive for Covid.
But it now seems official they will definitely be back as Tom shared a new update with fans, finally out of isolation and with his three kids.
Tom and Amy shared their frustrations over having to miss out on the second live show of the series last weekend.
The pair have had to isolate by themselves for 10 days in accordance with government guidelines but were delighted to confirm their comeback ahead of this weekend.
Tom was apart from his wife, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner, Giovanna Fletcher and their three children Buzz, 7, Buddy, 5 and Max, 3.
Luckily, the pair haven’t let it dampen their spirits as they have been preparing for their big comeback on Saturday night.
After the upcoming songs and dances that will be performed by the remaining 14 couples was confirmed on Tuesday, Tom shared the special significance of his routine which will be a nod to his band McFly.
They will be performing a Jive to Chuck Berry’s Johnny B Goode from the film Back To The Future for the show’s movie week.
Tom revealed to fans he would be dressing up as the film’s main character, Marty McFly, for the performance on Saturday night – the character who inspired the band’s name in the first place.
The singer and guitarist announced on Twitter: ‘I’ve been looking forward to learning to jive since signing up to Strictly so getting to do it dressed as Marty McFly to the movie that changed my life.
‘I’m living my childhood dream Saturday! CAN’T WAIT!’
On Saturday, Tom shared with his fans on Instagram how ‘tough’ it was to be absent from the live show.
He said: ‘Today is a tough day. It’s a Strictly day. I’m going to be watching Strictly tonight.
‘I’ll be cheering everyone on. I desperately, desperately, wish I was there dancing.
‘I know Amy will be doing the same and it will be incredibly frustrating.’
After both stars tested positive for Covid, Tom also had to miss the last leg of his ongoing UK tour with his band.
The dancing duo had – up until now – been prepping for Saturday over video, with Tom updating fans with screenshots.
But will they manage to make the comeback of a lifetime this weekend and climb up the leaderboard?
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One.
