Sally Lockwood, a Sky News reporter, has revealed her pregnancy and praised the crew behind the TV show for letting her hide it for so long.
As she prepared for maternity leave, the TV actress announced her joyful news on X, previously Twitter, and stated she’d been experiencing some pregnancy symptoms while working as a broadcaster.
‘Big shout out to the Sky News family who’ve looked after me as I’ve attempted to hide a large belly, leggings and nausea on air…,’ she began.
‘Sky News has the kindest people in the biz as well as the best.
‘Look forward to being a viewer for a few months & cheering you from the sidelines.’
She also revealed how they’ve been disguising the good news using camera angles and workplace furnishings.

Showing things from a new angle Sally leaned back in her chair, which she had dragged from beneath her desk.
Alongside the snap, she wrote on Instagram: ‘Last show done ✔️Now time to focus on some personal admin… 🤰.’
She went on to personally thank the make-up artists, producers, technical staff, and her fellow journalists who ‘have done so much to help me and look after me behind the scenes.’
Sally, who previously worked at ITN before joining Sky News in 2017, was flooded with congratulatory messages.
‘Congrats, I’m so excited for you and this incredible new adventure,’ wrote one follower.
Another added: ‘Congratulations on your last show. I wish you and your husband a fantastic Christmas . And you a easy birth of your first child. What a magical Christmas present to have. GX.’
Sally and Ronan celebrated their first wedding anniversary in June. He was by Sally’s side when she was in a car accident last month.
She wrote at the time: ‘Back in the saddle at work today after an encounter with a lorry made me miss last night’s show.
‘A huge thank you to the news legends Ian King & @ashishskynews for standing in and to my husband for scooping me up. His verdict when he saw the crash “you won’t see this car again.” The lengths I go to for a Friday night off! 🤪 Feeling very lucky and looking forward to seeing you for the News Hour from 5pm all weekend.’
She has become a recognisable figure on the channel as a result of her efforts. She covered the Presidential election, the storming of Congress, and the assassination of George Floyd as a US journalist. She spent seven weeks in Italy during the outset of the epidemic, when it became the first country in Europe to go into lockdown.
